The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova is a book that I have been avoiding for years. I keep looking at it; but, deciding against it. Turns out I thought it was a book that I tried to read years ago . . . guess what it is NOT that book!
Actually, it is a SUPER interesting book about a woman, her family, and Dracula. While there is a lot of history and description . . . I STILL managed to love it. It is not a book that you can read in an afternoon, nor is it a book that you will become obsessed with. Instead it is a unique story that you will be drawn into finishing. It is simply like no other novel I have read.
The details of the story are simply too much to describe. It is a plot filled with exotic locales, exotic ideas, and imagination. I will definitely be reading The Swan Thieves this year. Ms. Kostova has a dedicated reader in Me.
